“The Company” shall mean ShearStep.
DISCOUNTS
Quantity discounts are available on specific items upon request.
SETTLEMENTS
Payment will be due 30 days from the date of invoice and shall be strictly net. The Company reserve the right to levy a surcharge. Products remain the property of the Company until full settlement has been made.
CARRIAGE
Carriage charges for purchases made via the website are charged at £5 (+ VAT at 17.5%). The Company reserve the right to change this for heavy or bulky items. Please allow 5-7 days for delivery (excluding bespoke devices). Carriage charges will usually be added to the cost of goods unless previous arrangements have been made.
TRADES DESCRIPTON ACT
Whilst every care is taken to describe these products accurately, customers should satisfy themselves that the products meet their specific requirements. The Company reserves the right to alter, improve or amend specification on all items without prior notice.
HEALTH & SAFETY AT WORK
Our recommendations and suggestions of these products are based upon tests and information believed to be reliable. If any goods supplied by us prove, on examination, to be defective or faulty in material or workmanship, we undertake at our option to replace the item or refund to the purchaser the price of the goods. We shall not, under any circumstances whatsoever, be liable for damages whether consequential or otherwise however caused, be occasioned. However, the purchaser’s statutory rights remain unaffected by these conditions. The purchaser shall determine the suitability of the products for his or her intended use and under no circumstances will our liability exceed the limitations set out in the preceding paragraphs.
Special Terms of Trade
ORTHOTIC DEVICES
The Terms and Conditions for the supply of functional foot orthoses are available upon request.
COURTESY DISCOUNTS
1. Two pair discounts
(a) If two pairs of orthoses are ordered for the same patient at the same time, a 20% courtesy discount will be applied to the second pair.
(b) Any additional pairs of orthoses for the same patient, ordered within six months of initial shipment, will have a 10% courtesy discount.
2. Function foot orthoses are delivered to the customer free of charge. Overseas orders will be charged at cost.
PROTECT WARRANTY SCHEME
Protect covers the devices for 2 years from the date of despatch from the Company - this is inclusive of the 6 month guarantee period.
The agreement covers devices that have been outgrown prior to the patient’s 18th birthday.
For replacement of devices a surcharge must be paid at the time that the request for replacement is made.
One total refurbishment and one minor refurbishment of orthotic devices is permitted under the scheme.
Two prescription adjustments are permitted in addition to the standard adjustment/repair guarantee of the 6 month guarantee.

CASTS
Profiles are stored at the laboratory for six months from the date that they are received. On occasion, positive casts are shattered during our high pressure thermoforming pressing process and this may result in casts that are damaged beyond repair of identification. Since this is unavoidable, we may request you provide our laboratory with new negative casts. Langer UK cannot be held responsible for recasting costs.
Orthotic device replacements due to broken shells may require new casts. Langer UK will not be responsible for any costs associated with furnishing new casts. In order to incorporate all of the biomechanical aspects of the foot, while allowing for changes in the structure of the foot, Langer UK strongly recommends recasting in this instance.
SIX MONTH GUARANTEE
Subject to the conditions laid out below the Company guarantees the specification and accuracy of its orthotic devices, and guarantees that they will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of six months from the date of despatch from the Company.
The following conditions apply:
• The Company shall not be under any liability in respect of any defect in the orthotic devices arising from any error or inadequacy in the specification or prescription initially supplied by the practitioner.
• The Company shall not be under any liability in respect of any defect in the device arising from fair wear and tear, wilful damage, negligence, failure to follow the Company’s instructions (whether
verbal or in writing), misuse or alteration, or repair of the devices by the practitioner without the prior approval of the Company.
• Any suggestion, recommendation or advice made by a representative of the Company to a prescribing practitioner in respect of the devices does not convey any expressed or implied acceptance of
responsibility of therapeutic results or tolerance of the devices, both of which are exclusively in the domain and under the control of the prescribing practitioner.
• All damaged or defective devices must be returned to the Company before replacement can be made. No refund of cash will be made.
• Orthotic devices may be returned to the Company for one readjustment only, within the six month guarantee. This must be submitted within a maximum of 12 weeks after the date of despatch from
the Company - lest a charge will be incurred.
A charge plus postage and handling will be made for refashioned or repaired devices, for additions and replacement of component parts and for alterations or adjustments to prescription contours which
are performed during the guaranteed period at the direction of the prescribing practitioner.
MATERIAL SALES
A 15% restocking charge wil be made in respect of current stock items returned if incorrectly ordered by the customer. We will not accept return of goods unless prior authority has been obtained from
the Company, nor will we accept back goods specially ordered or manufactured to the requests of the customer. A returns number will be required and ShearStep's return policy must be adhered to.
